W. P. Wagner's Career & Technology Studies programming teaches students practical skills and provides insight into a variety of career pathways. These courses give students an advantage in a wide variety of technical programs after high school. There really is something for everyone at W. P. Wagner.
Barbering
Students will explore introductory barbering techniques including hair and scalp care, various haircutting techniques using shears and clippers, as well as facial grooming techniques
Computer Science 10-20-30
Students learn Visual Basic, the easiest and most productive program for creating Windows applications and understand the fundamentals of coding, robotics and video game design
Construction 10-20-30
Our construction technology program explores traditional hand and power tool woodworking techniques used in building furniture.
Cosmetology 10-20-30
This course introduces you to different aspects of the hair stylist industry beginning with personal hygiene and grooming, then exploring different hair and scalp care techniques
Cosmo & Esthetics Combo 10-20-30
Students will explore different areas of the hairstylist and esthetics industries. Students will learn personal hygiene and grooming, different hair and scalp techniques, as well as skin care, manicuring, hair removal, and makeup applications
Digital Audio 10-20-30
Through hands-on training the students discover a wide range of recording and production techniques while also building their musical knowledge and skills in aural training, composition, arranging, critical listening, and music theory.
Fashion Studies 10-20-30
Students learn to sew basic garments and accessories as well as design and pattern drafting.
Food Studies 10-20-30
Students prepare a variety of nutritious recipes, developing and/or enhancing their skills in cooking and baking, time management, safety, sanitation, food presentation, problem-solving, and teamwork.
Game and Graphic Design 10-20-30
Participants in this course will leverage industry-standard tools to create versatile digital designs. Whether they're diving into video game development, crafting print graphics, or designing digital media, students will generate visually captivating content that communicates impactful messages with effectiveness.
Natural Sciences 10-20-30
Students use project-based learning to explore topics like greenhouse care, landscaping, indoor plant care, integrated pest management, hydroponics, aquaponics, and floral design.
Photography 10-20-30
Students unleash their creativity in and out of the classroom and hone their technique both with supplied mirrorless cameras and editing software like Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and Premiere.
Robotics and Engineering 10-20-30
Confronting real-world challenges, students will tackle problems directly by employing engineering and robotics frameworks, employing the design thinking process to devise effective solutions. This hands-on approach involves the application of code, electronics, and various technologies, guiding students in the creation of both digital and physical solutions
Sports Medicine 15-25-35
Students learn about human anatomy, injury prevention, immediate injury care, injury assessment and rehabilitation.
Sports Performance 15-25-35
Students learn and practice the fundamentals of athletic training. Topics include group training, nutrition, sports psychology, and testing protocols for high performance.
