2024/25 School Year
For the 2024 - 2025 school year, W.P. Wagner School is full in planned classes in Grade 10, 11 and 12 in both the regular and STEM programs. We will no longer be accepting students in Grade 10, 11 and 12 in the STEM program. For the regular program, we will now only accept resident students for Grade 10, 11 and 12 whose parent(s)/legal guardian(s) have newly moved into the school’s attendance area. A resident student of Edmonton Public Schools has at least one parent or legal guardian living in Edmonton who is not Roman Catholic. Non-resident students can enroll in another Division school with space in planned classes.
If you are new to Edmonton Public Schools, you must register online.
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Welcome to W.P. Wagner High School,
W.P. Wagner School is a fantastic school that has a long standing reputation of providing excellent programming for students and creating a warm, inviting and special atmosphere for both students and staff. It is an honor to be the principal of W.P. Wagner School and a great privilege to serve the students and families of this school community.
Our focus at W.P. Wagner School is to ensure students have the opportunity to explore, create, and work to their greatest potential. Our school staff work diligently to support our students to be confident in their own learning, take creative risks, try new things, and be a positive contributor within their community. Together, we work to set high standards for academics and citizenship for our students. This focus can be witnessed first hand through the amazing programming W.P. Wagner School offers. We are the only high school in Edmonton Public Schools that offers a S.T.E.M. Alternative program. Our S.T.E.M. students benefit greatly from spending time in our S.T.E.M. Design Labs and gaining a deep understanding of the design thinking cycle which they can utilize in all of their subject areas and beyond high school.
We encourage our students to get involved in the wide variety of programs, athletics, clubs, and other opportunities that exist at our school, including Advanced Placement. Our Student Leadership program is one of the strongest in the city and we offer over 20 athletic teams through the school year. We offer unique and dynamic Fine Arts programs and over 20 options courses that students can choose from. Finally, students can join clubs and extracurricular activities to augment their learning and try something new in a safe setting.
To better support our students, our assistant principals, student services counselors and administrative assistants are assigned to work with student alpha groups. Students with last names starting with A - G will work with Assistant Principal Michaud. Students with the last names H - O will work with Assistant Principal Hirjee, and students with the last names P - Z will work with Assistant Principal Heidt .
I would like to extend an invitation to all parents to attend our School Council meetings which are held every second month. Attending these meetings is a great way to learn more about our school and support all of our students and their education. As always, the best source of information for all families is to access SchoolZone. Please contact our school office if you have difficulty accessing your account or if you are new to the Division.
Thank you to our current students for choosing W.P. Wagner School to be their three year high school destination and thank you to our future students for considering W.P. Wagner School to be their high school of choice.
