At W. P. Wagner we believe strongly in preparing our students for life beyond Grade 12.  It is our hope to ease their worries about their transition into the world of work and post-secondary, by providing them the time, resources and guidance to explore potential career paths, in relation to their interests, skills, education, experiences and life goals.

Over the course of three years, students will have the opportunity to consider a number of career and post-secondary options through lunch hour seminars, guest speakers and our post-secondary fair.  Evening sessions on scholarships and apprenticeship are also available.

All students are provided free access to myBlueprint on SchoolZone in which they develop their resume and compile information about post-secondary institutions into an electronic portfolio that they can access at any time, from anywhere, to support their applications to employers and institutions beyond their high school years.

Classroom sessions are directed by our school counsellors, and it is expected each of our graduating students will be awarded 1 credit upon presentation of their E-Portfolio Final Assignment (module CTR2310: Career Directions – Expansion).

myBlueprint helps students in Kindergarten - Grade 12 learn about self-reflection, goal setting and portfolio building. This online interactive education and career-planning tool allows students to learn about age-appropriate pathways and occupations. It also has a fantastic resume and cover letter tool.
myBlueprint consists of two features that supports students based on their grade.
  • All About Me (K-6): a visual, student-driven portfolio that supports the work already being done in the classroom
  • Education Planner (Grades 7-12): simple student portfolios and career education resources
Students and teachers can access their account by logging into their account through schoolZone. Navigate to the Resources tab and click on the myBlueprint logo. Parents can log in through the myBlueprint , but must be invited by their child.
